Jesse White Tumblers 

6:30 p.m. The Jesse White Tumblers - Outside Entertainment
The Jesse White Tumblers were created in 1959 to provide a positive alternative for inner-city kids. The team consists of male and female participants as young as age 6. The team, with 7 units, gives more than 1,500 performances each year at major sporting events and community, business, and charity functions.  

 


UpBeat Orchestra

The UPBEAT ORCHESTRA is one of the region’s most exciting and creative party bands - a dynamic and balanced mix of Swing/Classics, Motown/R&B, Party/Rock and Contemporary. UpBeat is comprised of Chicago’s top national level artists, and is known for packing the floor with dramatic momentum – UpBeat creates a non-stop, unforgettable dance party experience. UpBeat performs a variety program that musically connects with everyone – Chicago's UpBeat Dance Band!

Mr. Taps' engaging personality and fancy footwork entrances audiences. Ayrie King III, better known as "Mr. Taps," effortlessly glides across the floor as he demonstrates different styles of tap dancing, from Fred Astaire's innovative flair to Ann Miller's rapid-fire tapping. Mr. Taps has performed at schools, colleges, theaters and festivals throughout the U.S. Workshops and residencies are also available.


John Primer

7:30 p.m. John Primer & The Real Deal Blues Band with Special Guest Billy Flynn
Two-time Grammy nominated artist and American blues legend John Primer was the bandleader and guitarist for Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and Magic Slim & The Teardrops. Having played or recorded with a who's who of blues greats including Junior Wells, Gary Clark Jr., Derek Trucks, Johnny Winter, The Rolling Stones and Buddy Guy to name a few, John Primer's personal accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, reflect his countless contributions to the history of Chicago blues. There are very few fans, critics or musicians who will deny the fact that John Primer is the real deal.

Bernie Glim & Friends is a Country/Rock/Jazzy/Blues band of master musicians led by Bernie Glim on guitar and vocals. The ensemble includes Al Joseph on violin, Karen Larson Glim and Rachel McGowan on percussion and vocals, Jim Williams on bass and Scott Bonshire on drums. Their CD, “ Playin’ To Win“, was voted in the Top Ten of the 2007 album releases in the midwest. Performing over 200 dates a year, their warmth, humor and ability to engage audiences of all ages has gained them a loyal following.

With finesse and good-natured wit, Bobby skillfully weaves varied activities such as fire-eating, mouth juggling and audience participation into a delightful performance. Bobby has appeared on TNT, CBS, PBS and Ripley's Believe it or Not.

The gentlemen comprising the Brooklyn-based five-piece The Rad Trads distinguish themselves in ways few bands can. Already drawing lines around the block at home, the globe-trotting group’s singular take on rock n roll mixes punk rock energy, horn drenched soul, and jazz precision, all with alight hearted but sincere delivery. It’s a sound and show that is gaining steam world over as The Rad Trads continue to tour in support of On Tap, out now from Hornblow Recordings.

Xavier Joshua is a seasoned DJ and Master of Ceremonies (MC), is known as one of the pioneers of the Chicago House Music Movement.  He was honored to be named to the Architects of House as one of the 100 most influential DJ’s in the Chicago House Music scene between 1975 and 1995.  One of Xavier’s biggest joys was teaching and mentoring his little brother Maurice, who achieved national recognition as 3-time Grammy nominee and winner for his 2004 dance remix of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love”.

"Chicago-Born vocalist Fredi Taylor started her music career as a child singing in church and grew to become a local and national performing vocalist and spoken word artist. For over 20 years, Fredi has brought together talented, internationally renowned musicians who, along with Fredi's passionate and high-energy covers of classic and contemporary R&B hits, always keep the crowd on their feet, dancing and singing along.  Her Legacy Music Project brings together generations of artists and music for an evening of feel good fun of influenced by R&B, Neo-soul, Jazz, and Reggae flavors from the 70's to today."
